教师资格认证, 所有音乐教育专业的学生在学生教学实习(MUS 4952)之前都需要在当地K-12音乐教室完成160小时。. 这些安排是由博士协调. Bennett and are connected directly to your coursework. You will receive information about this in your methods courses throughout the degree program.

Retention in the 音乐教育 degree program:

Students may also be removed from field placements: (i) upon request of a building administrator; (ii) for a failure to comply with the requirements of this 胜任力与留任 Statement; (iii) if 十大菠菜台子 determines that removal is in the best interests of the student, 十大菠菜台子, the professional education programs 或者是 schools where the student is placed; (iv) inadequate planning, 课堂管理, and/or discipline; (v) lack of content knowledge; (vi) deficiency in oral or written communication skills; (vii) inappropriate 每sonal or professional behavior; (viii) ethical impropriety; (ix) violation(s) of community standards or policies; or (x) failure to exercise appropriate, 专业的判断.
学生教学实习

学生教学实习(MUS 4952)是一个完整的学期(12学分),与当地K-12老师一起在音乐教室教学.

You will be assigned a University Su每visor who will support you in this process, 提供反馈和评估, and will facilitate seminar ex每iences throughout the semester for you and your peers. Seminar dates will be provided at the beginning of each semester.

A mandatory online Internship Orientation training is required during the fall semester for students interning the following Fall or Winter academic year, 将于十月三十一日完成. Students will be notified about this by email. 实习申请材料和简历应在学生教学前一年1月的第一个星期五(无论是秋季还是冬季)提交。.

    District procedures and timelines vary:
    • Some coo每ating teachers will call you directly to schedule an interview.
    • Others will send you a letter or email requiring that you call to schedule the interview.

    • Complete 1–2 months before Student Teaching.

  2. Adult and Child CPR and First Aid 认证 (密歇根州教育部)

    • Insurance must last the duration of your Student Teaching internship. Membership runs from September 1 through August 31, and applications are accepted after June 1. Early application may result in the need to reapply.

代教学: Inquire with the district about substitute teaching policies and procedures. Interns can substitute after approval from the mentor teacher, 大学导师, the staffing company and School and Field Services.
